Life at APPP

Campus

The APPP classes are held on both the Kunitachi Main Campus and the Chiyoda Campus in central Tokyo.
The APPP students are based in a quiet and beautiful school city (Kunitachi) and can study a variety of subjects offered by programs other than public economics.
At the same time, APPP students can attend the most advanced lectures by instructors with a career in the subject area and by experts at the campus situated in Tokyo's business district.

Accommodation

Hitotsubashi University has its own dormitories on Kunitachi campus and Kodaira Campus. The dormitories offer comfortable accommodations and opportunities to interact with not only classmates but also with Japanese and international students enrolled in different courses at Hitotsubashi. APPP students will be able to stay in a dormitory upon enrollment until graduation, but the maximum stay is for two years.

However, the number of Couple/Family rooms are limited. If there are many requests, it will be chosen by lottery.

Japanese language class and Japanese cultural experience

Some scholarship sponsors provide funding for Japanese language class, and for events in which APPP students get to experience Japanese culture arranged by the Program.

Field Trips

Some sponsors such as Japan-IMF Scholarship for Asia, ADB-JSP and JDS Scholarship provide funds for field trips, which are arranged by the Program. In these trips, students go to some place in Japan distant from Tokyo by plane, and spend several days there visiting local agencies for study (e.g., the prefectural government office and the branch office of the Bank of Japan) as well as sightseeing spots in the vicinity.
