As from August 1, Prof. Masahiro Hori began his work at APPP. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkley. He is an empirical economist with a long career at the Cabinet Office of Japan, working on macro models and writing numerous papers. He was seconded at the IMF for three years (2005-08), where he was in charge of Thailand and Myanmar. He also spent three years at the Hitotsubashi University's Institute of Economic Research. He is the successor for Prof. Kunieda, and will take charge of Economics of the Public Sector and several elective courses related to fiscal policy.
