There is a concern that young people have been turning away from politics, raising the issues such as low voting turnout among young people. In reality, however, it is young leaders who are actively working for democracy, freedom, and human rights around the world. Institute for Global Governance Research at Hitotsubashi University will host a webinar titled "Next Generation Leaders and Democracy: Youth Seeking Freedom from the Rim of Power," featuring some of the most impressive young leaders in Hong Kong, Okinawa, and Ukraine. We will discuss the role of young people in seeking democracy, freedom, and human rights, the obstacles they face, as well as the support system that should be in place.
